ROBERT SHEARER, MSN, APN, CRNA
PRESIDENT

Robert Shearer

Robert graduated from Frankford Nursing School in 1992. After graduation, Robert worked at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children while pursuing a mater’s degree in nursing as a nurse anesthetist from Hahnemann University. Robert has been working as a nurse anesthetist since 2000. Robert worked as a full-time clinical professor at Drexel University for the nurse anesthesia program from 2003 to 2006. Today Robert lives in Mullica Hill, New Jersey with his wife, Debbie and his daughter, Anna. He continues to practice anesthesia specializing in the area of endovascular neurosurgery. He guest lectures at area nurse anesthesia programs such as The University of Pennsylvania and Nazareth Hospital nurse anesthesia programs. In addition to practicing anesthesia and teaching, Robert works for Independence Planning Group as a financial planner focusing on financial planning for health care providers.

ROBIN BAUER, MS, APN, CRNA
SECRETARY

Robin received her BSN from William Paterson College and her MS in Nurse Anesthesia from Columbia University in 1982. Robin has worked at Roosevelt Hospital, Columbia Presbyterian, CentraState Hospital, Surgery Centers and is currently the Chief Anesthetist at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch. She also serves as a preceptor for students from Jefferson Medical College. Robin bas helped the Board with Public Relations projects and represented us at fundraisers.

RUSSELL R. LYNN, MSN, APN, CRNA
TREASURER

Russell LynnMr. Lynn received his Diploma in Nursing from the Helene Fuld Hospital School of Nursing, Trenton, NJ in 1994, his Baccalaureate Nursing Degree from Widener University, Chester, Pennsylvania in 1999, his Masters in Nursing from Temple University, Philadelphia, PA and his certificate in Nurse Anesthesia from the Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nurse Anesthesia, Philadelphia PA in 2001. He has also completed a post master’s certificate in Teaching at the University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Lynn is a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist with over 15 years of critical care, trauma intensive care, and anesthesia experience, including over 10 years of pre hospital experience. Mr. Lynn has been teaching within the Nurse Anesthesia profession since 2002 both clinically and didactically and currently serves as the Associate Director of the Nurse Anesthesia Program at the University of Pennsylvania. His research interests include alternative approaches to perioperative blood conservation methods patient safety, and bio medical ethics.

Mr. Lynn is currently pursuing a PhD from the University of Pennsylvania where he has been named as a Jonas Scholar. His area of research will focus on issues surrounding the impact of bio medical ethical issues within the peri operative environment.

Mr. Lynn continues to maintain an active membership with the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and has served on several committees: Nominations 2008-2009, State Organizational Development Committee 2009-2010, Taskforce on Transfer of Care 2010-2011. Mr. Lynn also serves the National Board for the Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists as an item writer for the SEE exam as well as the Council on Accreditation as a member of the on-site review team for Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs. On a state level Mr. Lynn has held the following positions within the NJANA; Board of Directors, 2005-2007, President Elect 2007-2008, President 2008-2010, and Treasurer 2010-2012.

TRACY CASTLEMAN, MS, APN, CRNA
CHAIRPERSON PUBLIC RELATIONS

Tracy received her BSN in 1986 from Niagara University, Niagara Falls, NY and graduated from the Albany Medical College Graduate School for Nurse Anesthesia in 1991. While in graduate school was appointed to the AANA Council on Accreditation as the Student Representative for 1990-1991. After graduation she remained on staff at Albany Medical Center Hospital as a staff CRNA as well as a clinical and didactic instructor in the Nurse Anesthesia Program. She has served as a committee member on the AANA Practice Committee (2000-2001) and the AANA Public Relations Committee (1998-2000), and as Public Relations Committee Chair, (2001-2007. While on the Public Relations Committee, she has helped to develop and grow the AANA Student Mentoring Program at the AANA Annual and Mid-Year Assembly meetings. She has also lectured both to students and around the country on PR skills as well as the value of mentoring in our profession.

BOB MYRINOWSKI, MS, APN, CRNA
CHAIRPERSON NOMINATING COMMITTEE/ELECTIONS

Bob MirynowskiBob received his BS from Rutgers Nursing School and completed Nazareth School of Nurse Anesthesia in 1986. He worked at Nazareth as a clinical instructor and completed his masters at St. Joseph's University. Bob worked at Centra State Medical Center in Freehold and is currently at a surgery center in Monmouth County and also provides office anesthesia. This is his fourth term serving NJANA.

 

 

EDWARD MURPHY, MSN, APN, CRNA
BOARD MEMBER

Edward J. Murphy APN is a staff nurse anesthetist at Atlanticare Regional Medical Center a busy Level 2 trauma center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and Pomona, New Jersey. He also is president of Murphy Healthcare Associates a locum tenens anesthesia service which provides staffing to a variety of in-patient and out-patient facilities in New Jersey.

He graduated from MCP Hahnemann University School of Nurse Anesthesia where he received the Agatha Hodgins Award as top overall student. He is a board member of the New Jersey Association of Nurse Anesthetists (NJANA). He has a special interest in neuroanesthesia and interventional neurovascular anesthesia.

He and his wife live in Galloway and enjoy spending time at the New Jersey shore with his two daughters. Mr. Murphy also enjoys playing basketball, scuba diving, and coaching youth sports.

CHRIS GIBERSON, MSN, APN, CCRN, CRNA
BOARD MEMBER

Chris received my BSN from Wilmington University in 2006 and began Thomas Jefferson University’s Nurse Anesthesia Program in 2007. During training, he initiated the annual career fair during nurse anesthesia week at Thomas Jefferson University. The career fair won AANA national recognition with the best Public Relations effort by a small group in 2009. He currently work at Our Lady of Lourdes, Deborah Heart and Lung Center and Thomas Jefferson University. He is a member of the Diversity of Nurse Anesthesia Board of Directors. He enjoys working with students and is actively pursuing an MBA in Finance at Wilmington University.
